About Me

Hello!  A little bit about me-

I am a physician assistant who  has been practicing in primary care for quite a while, but my roots have always been in nutrition. My first degree was a dietetic technician degree and through that degree I learned that I wanted to be more involved with my patients and people in general, so it was back to school.

I am also a mother of 4 humans, 5 cats and a wife of a pretty good cook! We have a musical family and my husband and I did play out in bands  especially before COVID! have the goal of trying to grow my own veggies and food. I was able to produce 1 cucumber, some tomatoes, and some sweet potatoes this year, but I keep trying, and yes, I will eventually succeed.

I think that growing up with disordered eating almost always leads people to have an interest in the nutrition fields. That’s how I started. But that ‘s not all, I think I was about 13  years old when I saw a documentary on TV about factory farming, and I never touched a piece of meat again. After being a vegetarian for quite a long time, I saw a few more documentaries in about  2009, most notably, “ Hungry for a change”. I found the ad for Physician’s committee for Responsible Medicine 21 day Vegan kickstart and I haven’t looked back. The change in the way I felt was amazing enough, but to know that I was no longer contributing to the dairy industry horrors as well as the factory farms was great for me. And I was not missing out on anything food wise!
