Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
I figured now would be a good time to get this page up and running! New year, New changes!
Everybody is always inspired to be their best self at the beginning of the new year, and now is a great time to explore a plant- based lifestyle.
My goal is to help with this process. There are a multitude of studies about how meat and dairy are bad for your health. One, of the top of my head, is that red meat can cause colon cancer. Watch “What the Health“ on Netflix for a good introduction. There are also negative ethical implications for the animals and our planet.
Your efforts can be as simple as starting with “Meatless Monday” and trying that for a while. If you are afraid of missing out on your favorite foods, don’t be! There are so many GREAT vegan substitutes for just about everything, and they are easy to find! No more driving to an obscure health food store. Everything is at the local grocery store in today’s world! Vegan and vegetarian accommodations have become more widely available at most restaurants too.
We can get into the health benefits of the different types of veganism—whole food plant based, whole food plant based no oil—which is the forks over knives diet, and very heart healthy. Today is just a hey there! I am here to help with vegan recipes and general advice, but even though I am a physician assistant, you must discuss all dietary and health related issues with your PCP/ doctor!
Don’t forget it is Veganuary this month. Another great reason to start your plant based lifestyle.
